Orange County Sheriff’s Department: Second Annual Client Graduation Ceremony -
- On Tuesday, November 8, 2011, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Inmate Services Division, Inmate Re-Entry and Correctional Programs Units conducted their second annual Graduation Ceremony and Recognition Event for six former inmates who have turned their lives around by staying clean and sober and out of jail for more than six months. Commander Steven Kea and Inmate Services Administrative Manager Greg Boston personally congratulated these six individuals and rewarded them with a certificate of achievement to recognize the accomplishments they have made since their release from jail. Each of the six individuals had previously joined the Great Escape program while in custody which is a program designed to help repeat offenders beat drug and alcohol habits and become productive members of society. All of them also participated in various educational and vocational programs including Computer Business Skills classes and GED certification courses while in custody. With over 80 guests in attendance, including the graduates’ families, friends, Social Workers, Probation Officers, and Program Case Managers, the graduation was a great success.
